Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Afrivora you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users — buyers, sellers, and visitors.

2. Who can use Afrivora

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and post listings. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal right to sell any item you list.

3. Listings

All listings are subject to review and approval before going live. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your listing content. Afrivora reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these terms, is fraudulent, misleading, or illegal. Prohibited items include weapons, controlled substances, counterfeit goods, stolen property, and anything illegal under applicable law.

4. Prohibited conduct

• •Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent listings
• •Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users
• •Taking transactions off-platform to avoid fees or protections
• •Creating multiple accounts to bypass suspensions or restrictions
• •Scraping, copying, or reproducing Afrivora content without permission
• •Using the platform for spam or unsolicited advertising

5. Payments & escrow

Payments processed through Afrivora are subject to the terms of our payment partners (Flutterwave, Wave). When escrow is used, funds are released to the seller once the buyer confirms receipt. Disputes must be raised within 48 hours of delivery. Afrivora's decision in payment disputes is final.

6. Fees

Basic listing is free. Afrivora may introduce transaction fees or premium features in the future. Any fee changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice.

7. Verification

Verified status is granted after review of a valid government-issued ID. Verification does not constitute an endorsement of a seller's listings or guarantee of item quality. Afrivora may revoke verification at any time if fraudulent documents are discovered.

8. Intellectual property

By posting photos or content on Afrivora, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content on the platform. You retain ownership. Afrivora's brand, logo, and platform design are protected and may not be used without written permission.

9. Limitation of liability

Afrivora is a marketplace platform that connects buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction and are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of any item listed. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Afrivora's liability is limited to fees paid by you in the preceding 12 months.

10. Suspension & termination

Afrivora may suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in fraud, or poses a risk to other users. You may close your account at any time via Account → Settings.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction where Afrivora operates. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and where necessary through competent courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights you may have in your country of residence.

12. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
